I think it is very important for a chemistry tutor to be understanding of a student’s needs, especially because every student is different and some are afraid to ask for help. Therefore, I think its important to recognise when a student is visibly struggling with a topic or concept anf find different ways and techniques to explain something. I…

This means understanding the strengths of their students and helping them leverage those strengths while also giving them useful resources to work on their weaker areas to achieve good results.…

Spending time and resources on improving myself so that the I as a chemistry tutor can make the student understand better. Being honest, patient and a good listener adds up to it. I believe it’s important to empathise with students rather then being sympathetic. Sympathy comes with one feeling a sense of emotion for sometime. Whereas, when in comes to tutoring, we need to empathise with students as it’ll allow us to position ourselves in their circumstances. Therefore, will give as a vision of a reality closer to what a…

A good mentor is one that enables students to solve problems on their own, and supports students in discovering their interests and appreciation for the subject beyond their tutoring session. The most important things a chemistry tutor can do are to build a student’s confidence, create a comfortable space for questions, and adapt to their learning style. I also focus on breaking down concepts slowly and thoroughly, especially in challenging areas—a method I learned from my dad. Though it frustrated me as a kid, I now see how this…

Local Reviews

I was rather impressed with the ease of obtaining a suitable tutor for my 9 year old son. The tutor profile helped me select who I thought would best suit my child's personality and 3 sessions in my child is still enjoying the tutoring lessons. They got in touch with me almost immediately from when I left my details and there have been many follow up emails to check in on how it's progressing. I would highly recommend EZY Math tutoring to anyone who is considering it.

Inside Williams LandingTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 5 student Tanya focused on geometry, working through types of angles and properties of shapes using clear diagrams.

Year 8 student Ryan tackled algebraic equations and practiced solving inequalities step-by-step to boost confidence with variables.

For Year 9, Saanvi explored probability concepts and completed practice problems on calculating event likelihoods, as well as reinforcing her understanding of tables and division.

Recent Challenges

In Year 7 maths, one student repeatedly left homework incomplete and avoided revising unfamiliar fraction questions—"needs more practice and needs to do homework," a tutor noted—so gaps in comparing values persisted.

In Year 10 science, another submitted their gas exchange report on time but didn't take up written feedback before the next task, which limited deeper understanding.

A Year 9 English learner hesitated to write longer responses under timed conditions, often planning for too long then running out of time; this led to unfinished essays during assessments.

When focus slipped, especially in senior years, progress slowed or confidence dipped noticeably.

Recent Achievements

One Williams Landing tutor recently saw a Year 10 student move from guessing through multiple-choice English questions to justifying each answer and clearly explaining why the alternatives were incorrect—a big shift from earlier sessions where he'd skip explanations.

In Year 9 maths, another student who used to struggle with fraction comparisons can now quickly tell which is larger and explain her thinking, something she avoided before.

Meanwhile, a primary schooler who often froze on times tables surprised his tutor by tackling all multiplication and division problems in one session without prompting, finishing every question independently for the first time.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Point Cook Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Truganina South Primary School.
