Secondly, it is really important to know how to behave and how to transfer knowledge to a student. I am glad that I know how this…

I believe a tutor can impact student's lives by providing the foundation he needs for further studies. A student with a poor concept might some how pass but he will struggle in the future, or looses interest in that subject. Hence a tutor can strengthen that foundation, at the same time be a source of motivation and a be a big brother. My main…

Things that are most important a tutor can do for a student is being reliable and patient with students. Whenever a student doesn't understand something and they ask you it is important to not demean them as that will make them think negatively of themselves and become afraid to ask questions in the future. Inside Bankstown AerodromeTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 11 student Daniel reviewed domain and range problems, practiced algebra proofs, and tackled permutation and combination questions using the nPr rule.

Another Year 11 student, Emily, worked through trigonometry by learning SOH CAH TOA alongside exact value tables, and applied these skills to solve angle sum problems with triangle diagrams.

For a Year 3 student named Mia, lessons focused on telling time with analogue clocks and interpreting phrases like 'quarter past' or 'half past', as well as reinforcing subtraction of three-digit numbers.

Recent Challenges

In Year 9, messy working and unclear formatting led to confusion in algebra and graphing tasks—one tutor remarked, "Setting out his work!! Must align equal signs—work vertically, not horizontally."

In a senior Year 11 lesson, skipping steps during trigonometry proofs meant key logic was lost, resulting in incorrect answers.

A Year 7 student struggled with time management on assessments; illegible solutions made it hard for markers to award full marks.

Meanwhile, in Year 4 maths, over-reliance on finger counting slowed progress with harder multiplication problems and undermined confidence when worded questions appeared unexpectedly.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Bankstown Aerodrome noticed one Year 11 student, Sharla, who previously needed regular prompting, now tackling new algebra content independently and applying factorisation skills to harder questions right after a single demonstration.

In another session, a high schooler who struggled with graph transformations earlier managed nearly 100% on a recent test by explaining transformation steps clearly without assistance.

Meanwhile, a Year 4 student who was hesitant about decimals at first is now adding decimal numbers confidently and reading aloud with far fewer pauses. She finished the lesson by reading the next passage out loud with improved fluency.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Chester Hill Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Georges Hall Public School.
