I think the most important thing that a tutor can do for a student is to have them gain confidence with themselves in terms of excelling in school. I think this confidence is important in not just getting high marks in quizzes and tests, but I believe that being confident will help them long-term in solving problems not just in school, even though…

The most important role a tutor can play is showing constant and unconditional support for their student. This is something I've learned from the example of my previous tutor who answered almost every email or text message within the hour within reason. I believe showing this constant support allows the student to trust us as tutors and react more…

To not show them the answer straight away. Push the student to understand what they are doing, and use the knowledge that they have learnt to solve the problem. There is no point in getting a question wrong, looking at the answer and saying 'I will do that next time'. It is essential that they can do the questions individually and confidently. I…

Just being a support for the student in question. Now, obviously, the first idea to jump to there is academically, and this is super important, of course, but also school is a naturally difficult time for a lot of students for a large variety of reasons, and even if the tutor nor student realize it, being there to help dealing with it is a massive…

I believe the most important thing is to help and guide students through the HSC period, and their choices after the HSC. My strength would be that I can understand what the students feel because I have been enroled into many different tutoring centers. My weakness is that I am a quiet person and I don't talk a lot unless it is with close friends,…

Other than the obvious reasons of being able to just regurgitate the content taught in schools in my opinion the most important things a tutor could do for a student is be compassionate for them and empathetic as tutoring is not like school as since they may go tutoring e.g. 1 time per week they need to learn more content than of which they do at…

The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to respect their intellect. A tutor must always be careful not to break a student’s confidence. Sometimes, students may feel low for not being able to catch up to their friends. In such case, it is very important as a tutor to encourage the student and bring back his confidence. Childhood…

The best and most significant thing as a tutor is to be friendly and being able to communicate your ideas across, the main thing is to be able to communicate the information so the student can understand highly My strengths are I have a great form of communication which everyone says that to me when I ask for feedback, they say I got a good way of…

The most important thing that a tutor can do for a student is to understand how the student learns. By knowing the students learning preferences and ability the tutor can tailor their approach to individuals rather than utilising a blanket approach, which can often leave some students behind. The most important thing a tutor can do is inspire the students to be successful. This might mean pushing them to study harder, it also might not mean this. It is also important for a tutor to gauge a students potential to see how hard they should push their students. For the less talented students, a lot of patience would be needed. A greater…

Things that are most important a tutor can do for a student is being reliable and patient with students. Whenever a student doesn't understand something and they ask you it is important to not demean them as that will make them think negatively of themselves and become afraid to ask questions in the future. It is good to have an open mind when it…

The most important thing which a tutor can do for a student is to make him understand the concept instead of just showing him how to solve the problems. If a student understands the concept well then he can solve any type of problem. As I tutor , my strengths are understanding the level of teaching required for any particular student. Each student…

Support and believe within the student that they can do it. They are only limited with what they think they think they can achieve, if a student sees their tutor believe they can do it than definitely they will drive their own development. I am very patient and I can see conceptual gaps within a students thinking which further helps them develop…

EzyMathTutoring has helped my daughter very much with her mathematics. She understands the work in more depth and its showing in her results. I am very pleased with her tutor and the way he explains and helps her with the questions or problems she has. Overall, very happy with everything
John, Canley Vale

Inside Canley ValeTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 3 student Ana worked on recognising vowels, practising the alphabet, and improving her reading and spelling accuracy.

In Year 10, Michael focused on trigonometry and algebraic arithmetic, applying these skills to solve textbook-style problems.

For Year 12, Emma reviewed differentiation techniques—including chain rule applications—and tackled questions involving exponential and logarithmic functions using past exam materials.

Recent Challenges

One Year 3 learner, when reading aloud, consistently pronounced every word with a "T" in front—this confusion over letter sounds made it hard to build new words.

In Year 8 maths, one student often felt overwhelmed during timed problem-solving and couldn't process solutions efficiently, as the tutor noted: "When the clock was ticking down, she lost focus and struggled to write her answers."

For a Year 11 advanced mathematics student, homework was sometimes incomplete or missing after lesson cancellations; this led to gaps in understanding of anti-derivatives and integration rules that lingered into later sessions.

Recent Achievements

One Canley Vale tutor recently saw a Year 10 student who used to get stuck on the first few algebra questions now breeze through the first ten in just 15 minutes after some targeted practice—she can solve similar problems much more easily without extra hints.

A high schooler who struggled with reading sections is now quick to skim passages, highlight key points, and finish those parts faster than before, even asking for tougher critical thinking tasks.

Meanwhile, a younger student who once hesitated to speak up now volunteers answers out loud and tackles reading tasks at a noticeably faster pace.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as The Whitlam Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Pal Buddhist School.
