Physics Tutor Murdoch, WA
I feel the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is maintain a patience attitude throughout the whole process. Approach every problem with high degree of logical reasoning and find a way in which the student can become comfortable answering a particular type of problem, with little stress or assistance. I feel my main strength as a…

Physics Tutor Success, WA
A tutor should create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions. It’s important to identify each student’s strengths and gaps, explain concepts clearly, and provide structured practice. Beyond academics, a tutor should help build confidence, motivation, and independent learning skills so…

I believe the most important thing for a tutor to do for a student is to be patient, show compassion and adapt to their learning styles, whilst providing them with a strong foundation for the student to grow from and encourage them to be confident and intrigued with the subject; preparing themselves in a loop where their understanding of a subject…

I think providing study methods, resources and most of all help students achieve to their maximum potential are the most important attributes that tutors can give to students. I’m very persistent so I will make sure the student understands a topic thoroughly before moving…

Inside CoogeeTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 4 student Chinnu worked on mastering times tables and explored the relationship between fractions, decimals, and percentages by graphing results.

For Year 10, Daniel reviewed parabolas and quadratic equations, focusing on both problem-solving strategies and pre-test revision.

Meanwhile, Year 11 student Sarah tackled matrices and vectors from her recent assessments, along with a targeted review of key topics that appeared in her test materials.

Recent Challenges

In Year 11 mathematics, one student tended to do most calculations mentally, which led to missed steps and inconsistent results—"he needs a method that suits him but shows working," as a tutor observed.

In English (Year 7), another found it difficult to organize ideas on paper, resulting in long, confusing stories; focus drifted especially when writing dialogue or solving worded math problems.

Meanwhile, a Year 10 student hesitated to communicate confusion in class and rarely asked for help, making persistent gaps harder to address before assessments. The silence lingered even after lessons ended.

Recent Achievements

One Coogee tutor noticed a big shift with a Year 10 student who previously hesitated to ask for help; now, she's openly requesting clarification on tricky questions and working through problems independently.

Another high schooler, Harrison, moved from struggling to identify key features of parabolas in week one to confidently pinpointing them by week two—showing clear progress in understanding quadratics.

In primary sessions, Bander surprised his tutor by applying new creative writing techniques at home between lessons, showing initiative and ownership over his learning that wasn't there before.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Spearwood Public Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Coogee Primary School.
