Geography Tutor Mansfield Park, SA
Probably one of the most important things a tutor can do for a student is to provide them with the support and confidence when approaching a subject or concept that they struggle with. Allowing the students to get to the point where they may no longer struggle in that subject. One of my major strengths as a tutor would probably have to be my…

We were very happy with the tutoring in Term 3 and would love it to continue in Term 4. River has clicked well with Ben and is enjoying the sessions.

Inside FelixstowTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 7 student Em worked through the more challenging parts of a maths folio task, including strategies for formatting equations in Word, and began exploring REDOX reactions in Chemistry.

For Year 9, Isabel focused on expanding and factorising algebraic expressions and simplifying algebraic fractions.

In Year 10, Ana prepared for her exam by covering key theory from the functions and relations topic, an area she found particularly unfamiliar.

Recent Challenges

A Year 10 student often arrived at sessions without recent test papers or clear notes, making it hard to pinpoint gaps before exams—one tutor observed, "she hadn't brought her maths test home, so next time."

In Year 11, motivation to revise independently was low, with folio drafts left incomplete and little energy for organizing formal write-ups.

Meanwhile, a Year 7 learner's written work in Pythagoras' Theorem was described as needing clearer layout; corrections were required just to follow the logic.

In each case, confusion and disorganization led to frustration or missed opportunities for timely feedback.

Recent Achievements

A Felixstow tutoring session saw a Year 11 student become much more proactive—she now arrives with her own list of questions, and recently worked through every item in just one hour.

In another win, a high schooler who used to hesitate when facing algebraic proofs was able to tackle most steps independently, only checking in for minor guidance.

Meanwhile, a Year 7 student initially found trigonometric functions confusing but became noticeably more engaged after experimenting with different angle values during the lesson; she even asked for extra practice examples before finishing.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Payneham Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Felixstow Primary School.
