I think its understanding, confidence in knowledge and patience. We as tutors have to realise that not all students will understand ever single concept that they are taught the first time they are taught it. Therefore being understanding of everyone's situations, capabilities and then being able to find a unique way of teaching a student that…

One of the vital things a physics tutor can do for a student is to provide them with inspiration so that they can set out to achieve their academic goals. I speak with experience on this because during my high school my maths tutor provided me with the inspiration to do well in my academics. In addition, having a positive impact on a student's…

I excel at breaking down intricate concepts into simpler, relatable terms. This approach ensures that every student benefits from the lesson, irrespective of their initial familiarity with the subject. I understand that questions are the cornerstone of learning. I believe that the most important thing that a physics tutor can do for a student is to allow the student to feel free to ask questions and to query explanations. This way, it allows for me to answer their initial query as well as giving me the opportunity to proactively infer other areas that they may not completely understand. My strengths are…

I think the most important thing a physics tutor can do for a student is to make learning simple by building from a very strong foundation. The reason many students struggle with complex concepts is because their foundation is either weak or vague. My approach has always been to start with the basics, explain them in simple terms, and then…

I believe a teacher can either make or break a student and I've seen both scenarios happen around me. I believe as a physics tutor the most important thing I can do is boost their confidence or build it from scratch if they have no confidence at all. Be a good friend and to create a stress-free, comfortable environment for my students. I have…

Adjust teaching methods to enable children to learn and understand key knowledge points more clearly, helping to build their independent and divergent thinking to solve more difficult problems. In my opinion, the most important thing a physics tutor can do is reassure a student of their capabilities. High School is extremely stressful and for students to achieve the best they can, educating students on processes to handle stress will be extremely important to both improve studies and increase a students happiness. My strengths as a tutor…

Similar to my strengths, I think a physics tutor needs to be flexible and patient with any and every student that they teach. A stubborn tutor that doesn't try to adapt to each student's personal needs or preferences won't be effective in their teaching, and a similar result follows for an impatient tutor. Additionally, any tutor should have a…

I think the most important is to be supportive, from experience the reason that most people struggle with learning is because they give up or don’t think they can. The most important thing a physics tutor can do for a student is to provide them with the one-on-one attention that is not given to them in schools with large class sizes. Help him or her to find their own ways to study most efficiently. Secondly, help develop an appreciation for the area of study by delivering the tutoring in a positive and engaging matter so that the student enjoys learning it.…

Local Reviews

We had a very good experience with Ezy Math. They were very proactive and great to deal with. When the first tutor we hired didn't work for us, we requested a change and they were quick to find us a replacement who was excellent. Jenny Wong is a great math Tutor and was kind, compassionate, patient and excellent at tutoring Maths. My daughter really benefited greatly and built much confidence and did well under her tutoring. Ezy Math regularly ask for feedback to see how things are going and are happy to work with you to make sure you have right tutor for your child.

Inside CamberwellTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 6 student Adele worked on operations with decimals, including multiplying and dividing them, and practised applying place value concepts to support accuracy.

Year 7 student Mia reviewed algebraic expressions—simplifying, factorising, and expanding brackets—and explored multiplying exponents with the same base using step-by-step written explanations.

Meanwhile, Jaidan in Year 8 focused on mastering Pythagoras' theorem by breaking down the formula's application to right-angled triangles and also spent time reviewing his recent test to address specific misunderstandings in geometry.

Recent Challenges

In Year 3 maths, one student often guessed answers for worded division problems or larger multiplication facts instead of working them out, saying "it's too hard" before attempting. This led to repeated confusion with remainders and symbol meanings.

In Year 7, another student rushed mental arithmetic rather than writing clear steps—"he prefers rushing through his working rather than writing it out step by step," a tutor noted—which made it difficult to track down errors in negative number calculations.

By Year 10 algebra, skipping written working meant sign errors went unnoticed until results were checked at the end, leading to frustration when mistakes accumulated.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Camberwell noticed Jayden's answers have become more structured and thorough—he now explains each step in algebraic problems, rather than just giving the final answer.

Jaidan, a high school student who previously struggled with Pythagoras' theorem, was able to spot where he'd gone wrong on his last test and corrected his approach when reviewing practice questions.

Meanwhile, Mia has started asking for clarification instead of skipping tricky worded maths problems; this shift means she now completes most multi-step questions independently, including finding 10% off prices and calculating change with decimals.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Camberwell Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Camberwell Girls Grammar School.
