What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

What I enjoy most about tutoring is the opportunity to spend quality time with students and help them understand concepts that once seemed unclear or challenging. Teaching has always been one of my hobbies -I have often taught my friends and younger siblings voluntarily, and those experiences made me realize just how enjoyable it is to support someone's learning. I especially enjoy the moment when a student finally understands something I have explained; their appreciation and confidence make the whole process incredibly rewarding.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

One of my major strengths as a tutor is that I am very articulate, especially in English. I always make clear explanations and am able to modify the explanation according to the level of the student's understanding. My broad base of knowledge, along with effective communication, empowers me to break down complex ideas into simplistic, achievable steps. Moreover, by dedicating quite an amount of time to teaching my younger cousins, I have managed to acquire patience, empathy, and insight into how children think and learn.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I think the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to make learning simple by building from a very strong foundation. The reason many students struggle with complex concepts is because their foundation is either weak or vague. My approach has always been to start with the basics, explain them in simple terms, and then gradually build towards more advanced topics. Once the basics are solid, students gain confidence, ask better questions, and become more independent learners. Helping them develop that clarity and confidence is, in my view, a tutor’s most valuable role.

About Kasturi

About me

Hi! I’m Kasturi, a 23-year-old Marketing student at the University of Melbourne. I moved to Australia in February 2025, and I’ve loved exploring new opportunities since. I’m a naturally creative person with hobbies like reading, writing, and content creation—I even run my own YouTube channel! Alongside my studies, I enjoy trying out different professions and building new skills while I’m here. I’m always excited to learn, grow, and connect with people.

My experience working with children

Before coming to Melbourne, I worked as a Branding Manager at a children’s cancer hospital in India. This role meant spending a lot of time around kids, which helped me learn patience, gentleness, and how to make them feel comfortable. I genuinely love working with children, and I bring a warm, positive, and encouraging energy whenever I’m around them.

My mission as a tutor

I’m tutoring because helping students feel confident and supported truly makes me happy. Whether it’s maths or other school subjects, my goal is to make learning feel simple, enjoyable, and stress-free. I aim to teach with kindness, patience, and lots of encouragement—because every child deserves to feel capable and proud of their progress.
