Chemistry Tutor Westcourt, QLD
I personally believe that for a chemistry tutor to be effective, they have to be willing to listen to, and learn from, the individual that they are working with. There is always more than one way to teach a specific skill, and, as a result of this, it is important to work together to find the most effective methods. I think that it is important to…

Chemistry Tutor Brinsmead, QLD
The most important thing that a chemistry tutor can do for a student is to engage the student in a way which makes them want to keep learning that specific subject if not fall in love with it. At the end of the day motivation must come from the student themself and as a tutor I believe it is my job to help the student find that motivation. I…

Inside EarlvilleTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 7 student Sophia worked on simplifying index laws and evaluated order of operations questions using her recent school test as practice.

Year 8 Layla focused on applying Pythagoras' theorem to solve for unknown side lengths in triangles and spent time revising for an upcoming exam.

Meanwhile, Year 9 Will completed revision lessons targeting key algebraic skills such as solving linear equations and practiced substitution and elimination methods for simultaneous equations.

Recent Challenges

A Year 8 student often arrived without essential materials, which led to missed learning time and redoing previous tasks instead of progressing. "He lost his homework sheet and had to spend the lesson going through it again," noted a tutor, highlighting organization issues that interrupted momentum in maths.

Meanwhile, a Year 10 learner's assignment showed formatting difficulties; unclear working made it hard for both student and tutor to trace errors in algebraic rearrangement.

In senior grades, one student repeatedly left homework incomplete—this meant opportunities for targeted feedback were missed, especially when tackling more complex pattern recognition problems in advanced maths.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Earlville recently noticed a Year 10 student who had previously hesitated to ask questions now arriving at sessions with her own list of queries for upcoming tests, showing real initiative.

Another high schooler, after struggling with multi-step geometry problems earlier in the term, managed to work through challenging angles questions almost entirely on his own last week.

In a primary session, one student who often guessed answers began double-checking her calculations before moving on. She finished all ten worksheet problems without needing any reminders to review her work.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Earlville Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Our Lady Help of Christians School.
