The most important thing is to teach them the methods rather than how to solve a single question. It’s also important to do preview and review with students. I’m patient, especially when I need to explain one thing for multiple times. I teach students quick way & my way of solving problems. I like doing summary and provide extra material to…

In my opinion, the best thing a physics tutor can do for a student is to make the student capable of explaining the concepts to another person. Explaining the correct concepts the right way is the key to make the basics and fundamentals to remain in the student's mind. As a tutor, my strengths lie in my ability to break down complex concepts into…

I think the most important thing is to make sure the tutoring sessions are fun and engaging. I want to make students who are not really fond of mathematics, for example, to learns things step by step and gain confidence, which will eventually make them happy in the end and get that satisfaction. Tutors should also be patient when teaching their…

I think continuous support is the most important thing that a physics tutor can do for a student. Without having continuous support, the student cannot rely on their tutor to help them when they are having difficulty. I think my strengths are that I am patient, I've had great exposure to younger students. I also have an open mind which allows me…

Tutor is the one that shows the way. Student should themselves walk their path. A tutor can show the easy, reliable and fun path for them to move forward. The basic one is patience. Moreover, it is crucial to encourage students to think critically by giving them the opportunity to independently…

I can make the student not only competent, but also comfortable and confident in a certain topic. I understand how stressful hard subjects can be. I was fortunate enough to know this tactic…

Inside MorleyTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 10 student Adam tackled **quadratic equations** and practiced binomial expansion, focusing on rearranging equations to solve for x and y.

In Year 11, Jessica worked through **trigonometry problems** involving finding angles and side lengths in triangles, as well as calculating the surface areas and volumes of prisms using diagrams.

Meanwhile, a Year 12 student, Daniel, focused on macroeconomics by analyzing Australia's trading system—covering **comparative advantage** and globalisation benefits—and interpreted supply and demand graphs to deepen his understanding.

Recent Challenges

Handwriting remained a persistent challenge in Year 7 English; as one tutor noted, "handwriting and spelling mistakes" made written responses difficult to read and sometimes obscured the student's ideas.

A Year 11 Economics student came to lessons without classwork or homework notes from previous lectures—no progress report was shown, so gaps could not be tracked or targeted.

In Year 10 Maths, confidence wavered during new topics: "It was confusing and hard when started learning the new stuff."

Without regular revision of key concepts like fractions in Year 6, errors crept back in unnoticed until prompted by hints.

Recent Achievements

One Morley tutor recently noticed a big shift in a Year 9 student's attitude: after months of hesitating to speak up, she now stops the lesson to ask questions whenever something doesn't make sense, especially during algebra problem-solving.

In a senior session, Luke began tackling surface area and trigonometry problems much faster than before—he independently chose the correct formulas without prompting, a clear change from earlier sessions where he waited for guidance.

Meanwhile, in Year 4 maths, Maddelyn spent nearly an hour practicing fraction addition but persisted through her frustration and completed every question on her own.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Gerry Leeuwangh Public Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Weld Square Primary School.
