What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I have always enjoyed helping others learn. Throughout school, I regularly tutored my younger sister, classmates, and friends, and I found it incredibly rewarding to see them gain confidence and improve their grades. I was also a private mathematics tutor for a year 10 student from June 2025 to January 2026. Being able to explain a concept in a way that finally makes it "click" for my student was the best part about tutoring.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
Having recently completed high school myself, I have a strong understanding of the challenges students face, particularly when preparing for exams. I know which topics are commonly misunderstood and the mistakes students often make, allowing me to explain concepts in a clear, relatable way.
I lessons are also very structured: I first introduce and explain the topic, then demonstrate worked examples before guiding the student through practice questions. I identify areas of misunderstanding, provide targeted explanations, and continue practicing until the student is confident.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe the most important thing a tutor can do is not just teach a subject so that a student understands it, but teach it in a way that enables the student to study independently and continue excelling without relying on a tutor. A great tutor should help improve not only a student's grades and confidence, but also their ability to think critically, solve problems, and learn on their own. In other words, a tutor shouldn't just teach the subject they should teach the student how to learn.
