I feel that getting to know and appreciating each individual student for who they are as a person in so important. It makes the student feel appreciated and allows a relaxed, productive, friendly and positive workspace to form. This can be done by having conversations about their days, having a laugh with them and fully engaging with what each…

The most important thing that I tutor can do for a student is be understanding. Some times it may be hard for a student and they may think that because they are not the best then they are not good enough. It is the tutor job not only to help the student academically but also mentally. There are many social pressures within a students school life…

Local Reviews

Thanking Silvana so much for her monthly report of Ayesha and Ashanti's progress. It's wonderful to see how Ezy maths and tutor's work with our children and specialise to each need, to reach the child's goals. Very impressed thank you so much Silvana.

Inside BalgaTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 7 student Lily worked through probability basics by using real-life examples and practiced fundamental algebra skills including substitution.

In Year 9, Ethan focused on solving linear equations and interpreting Cartesian planes with graph plotting.

Meanwhile, Year 10 student Ava tackled statistics revision with normal distribution concepts and applied these to biological data sets for practical understanding.

Recent Challenges

A Year 10 student in Math showed reluctance to write out full working, with one note stating, "just needs to provide more working; but is now more consistently good." This led to confusion when reviewing solutions for test prep.

In Biology (Year 12), limited access to material made revision harder—"must somehow gain access to more material," a tutor observed—so extra research was required just to keep pace.

Meanwhile, a Year 8 student's messy written layout in algebra sometimes hid sign errors, causing time lost double-checking basic steps instead of building confidence.

Recent Achievements

A Balga tutor recently noted a high school student who had struggled with essay writing found a new voice, now expressing ideas more clearly after weeks of hesitance.

Another secondary student who used to avoid revision is now taking thorough notes independently for the first time and sticking to this process during sessions.

In primary, one child processed tricky information slowly but persisted until understanding clicked—showing real determination compared to earlier frustration.

Last session, a Year 10 student completed most of their at-home section before tutoring even began, showing initiative that hadn't been there before.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Mirrabooka Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Balga Primary School.
