I believe that Zara does not use these strategies and hence she doesn't notice where she made an mistake in her working. By using techniques such as writing out her working and back checking, she is able to get a better understanding of where she may be going wrong and possibly correcting her own answers before I tell her they are wrong.
A positive altitude is exhibits, she can finish her assigned homework from school with a high standard, and finish most of the homework assigned by the tutor. She is keeping up with the topics learning in the schools and the materials provided by the tutors. She usually complete all the assigned workload from the school and attempt the harder questions from tutoring homework. She has a well organized work habits, all the studying materials from school and tutoring are organized separately and orderly.
I've found that Lexi initially struggled with directions, when using maps. I think that she cannot fully grasp the concept of north, south, east and west. However over a few weeks, she has shown a great improvement in this area.
Jack and Justin are getting along well. Jack seems to have to continued to improve since Justin started tutoring.
David did come over yesterday for a lesson with Kyle. Like you mentioned, he is a diligent and competent tutor with experience in teaching. He did put in a lot of effort even before he arrived to make sure he knew what he was dealing with. I am very happy and impressed with his teaching. Just wish we had found him earlier!
