Physics is such a vast area, it's easy to get lost. While a lot of the content can be simply memorised, which many students still do, physics also requires higher-order thinking. Understanding the scientific method isn't a small task. All of these demands in a short period of time and with exams coming closer and closer, no wonder students shy away from science subjects. The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
Mykayla is doing great at talking aloud, back checking, transferring from pen to paper and doing well at making corrections too. She still needs to improve on reassuring herself that it is OK to be wrong especially when Nikita sometimes gets ahead of her.
Una always has a positive and bubbly attitude, however, as a result it can sometime be hard to get her to focus and do work. But when she does do work, she works diligently and is always a fun person to deal with. When Una focuses on her work she is able to work hard on the problem and usually gets it done. You're instilling great work habits into her and that great to see.
Occasionally, Claudia forgets how to integrate or derive particular functions. I would like her to persist with the use of her 'revision sheet' which contains key fundamental derivation and integration rules such as how to derive and integrate sin(x) and cos(x) OR the relationship between 1/x and ln(x).
So far we are very happy with our classes I am sure as we progress jacob will start to see the improvements
