Every student needs help sometimes, and often that help is needed in English. From basics like punctuation, spelling and grammar right up to narrative writing, proof reading and literary analysis. The Australian curriculum is thorough and there are various challenges that pop up for students over the years. At some point most students could use some help and an English tutor does just that - help! Ideally that help comes before the student has formed a negative cycle or fallen into a no-effort habit.
What we do is facilitate that help as a home service, we'll organise an in-home English tutor in Dutton Park, or wherever it is convenient for you.
A local Dutton Park English tutor will come to you at a time and day of your chosing and offer tutoring help in a manner tailored for your child's unique situation. The first lesson works as a trial so that if your child doesn't connect well with the tutor, you don't have to pay and we can organise someone else for you.
The terms of service are super simple too. No contracts or minimum hours or cancellation fees or anything like that. You get charged a simple hourly rate. That's it.

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
This month, Daniel and I looked into various mathematical areas. We focused on using back-checking, seeking understanding, formatting skills and talking aloud. These have all helped to consolidate his understanding of the various mathematical concepts we have dealt with over the past month. As the month went on, Daniel grew in confidence with each new mathematical element we investigated. His competency with congruence, ratios and rates were especially strong.
Esme is a very hard-working girl and she has demontrated very good progress this month. Being just our first month, Emse has seem to connect with me very well and this is shown by her eagerness to do her timestables worksheet. Her mental math skills have noticeably improved as she understands the concept of the basic operations of math (ie. multiplication and division). Esme is a talented girl and I look forward to working with her.
unit conversion is one of charlottes weakest areas. Calculating distances , areas and volumes are straightforward, but converting from, for example cubic meters to liters however, is a obstacle at present.

Domenic has only had one session with Alvin, but he thinks he is 'awesome'. He likes the tips and tricks Alvin explains for solving maths problems. He's not keen on tutorials over holidays so will continue with more weekly lessons starting next week.
I am very happy with Aston. Joshua loved him and Aston is a great role Josh. Aston will be coming over for the second tutoring lesson tomorrow and I am pretty sure everything will work out perfectly.
We had one lesson with Taruka, she is lovely and Isabella enjoyed it. With school holiday and long weekend we haven't managed another but will definitely be starting up next week again.
