Biology Tutor East Toowoomba, QLD
I believe a biology tutor should take teaching very passionately when doing her/his job as these early days in students life will play important role in their later life. At the same time, I think a tutor should be emotionally intelligent enough to build a good relationship with student so that student enjoys learning. I try explain the science…

Biology Tutor Kearneys Spring, QLD
I believe the biggest thing a biology tutor can do is show the student how to study, meaning how to break down concepts and how to analyze. That way you will always have the tools should you decide to learn something later on in life. I believe I am very patient and take my time to explain things to students. I also like for them to take their…

Biology Tutor Kearneys Spring, QLD
Not only is knowing the content extremely important, but the way tutors teach the content is more important. Every student has their own needs, and a tutor must recognise that some teaching strategies might work for some but not work for others. My strengths is my teaching style. I believe my ability to connect with the student allows the student…

Biology Tutor Darling Heights, QLD
A tutor can help a student develop the necessary skills,by which he can learn and understand by himself. Also, he can help identify the students weaknesses and provide alternatives by which the student can easily learn. I have patience and understanding. I also have excellent writing skills. Moreover, I like challenges and I love it when I can…

10/10 very patient and knowledgeable, I'm a slow learner, and find maths difficult as I am a visual learner. Thank you!

Inside East ToowoombaTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 8 student Sam revised Pythagoras' theorem and tackled area and perimeter word problems involving circles, practising with diagrams for clarity.

In Year 10, Chloe worked on financial maths topics including annuities and compound interest calculations, as well as network theory basics.

Meanwhile, a senior student focused on Chemistry by balancing redox reactions—identifying oxidised and reduced species—and in Maths Methods, solved complex logarithmic functions drawn from past exam questions.

Recent Challenges

Several students across Years 4 to 11 showed a pattern of incomplete homework, which slowed progress—one Year 8 student "had not done any of the homework assigned either," leaving gaps in algebra skills that reappeared during practice.

In a Year 10 Maths Methods session, missing note organization meant time was spent hunting for past solutions instead of consolidating new techniques.

For a Year 7 student, working was often left unwritten; as one tutor noted, "Still hard to get him to write down every step for problems...but he is improving." This habit made it harder to catch errors early in multi-step equations.

Recent Achievements

One East Toowoomba tutor noticed a Year 9 student who used to get distracted during maths sessions now talks through his algebra steps out loud, helping him avoid the careless mistakes he struggled with before.

In Year 11 Chemistry, another student has become noticeably more proactive—she's started seeking feedback on assignments from both her teacher and tutor, which wasn't happening earlier in the term.

Meanwhile, a Year 4 learner who found multiplication tables overwhelming is now completing them much faster and even did all her homework without reminders last week.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Highfields Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like St Joseph's College.
