I believe encouraging a students desire to learn is one of the best things a tutor can do for their students, and learning can only be joyful when you understand what you're taught. I believe it is my duty as a tutor to make sure my students finish a tutoring session having more confidence in their study materials than before they started. I can…

I believe the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to give them the confidence to never stop trying to learn despite few low moments. I personally, encourage students to ask even the most basic questions which come across their mind and to never feel ashamed of wanting to learn more or being curious. In my opinion, Constantly…

The most important thing is give a student confidence in their own abilities. Without confidence, a student will continue to doubt themselves and struggle whether you are guiding them in their learning or not. I am compassionate, good at explaining things in multiple ways, and creative. I believe that to be a tutor you have to be creative, as the…

I believe the most important thing which a tutor can do for a student is not only teach them what they need to know but teach them the skills which they need to succeed on their own. I believe this because although a tutor can help with their learning, they can't be there every single step of the way, especially after high school. These skills…

The most important thing that a tutor can do is teach them to learn. Not everyone learns the same way so we should identify the childrens strength and cater to their needs so that they can become good independent learners in the future My biggest strength as a tutor is patience. Every child learns at a different pace and it's important to slow…

The best things that a mentor can give his/her students are life long skills and strategies. Academic knowledge is one thing however being able to know how to handle other different learning problem is something that the students can take with them for a long time (eg; time management, self discipline, problem solving skills) I believe my…

A tutor not only has to teach and assist, but has to provide a student with the confidence that he or she is capable of performing work to a high standard on their own. I believe my biggest strengths, as evident by my high school grades, are my highly developed mathematical and english skills. My main weakness would be holding a student to a…

I think the most important things a tutor can do is a) be consistent and persistent - constantly show up, be willing to explain things 100 times if that's what is needed. The student needs to have faith in you. And b) build confidence - tutoring isn't a short term option, by teaching them the skills of how to attack problems they don't understand,…

As I outlined earlier, a teacher's or a tutor's sole responsibility is not to teach academia, it is to serve as a role model and to help their students grow as people. I think it's so important to treat students as adults, no matter their age, (Of course with a little sensibility applied) and even more importantly as an individual -- to not apply…

I think the most important things are that a tutor should should consider are knowing the student's leaning style because not every student are the same to just get a question or example at one go, it is important to make the student ask questions or ask them questions so they think outside the box and get a better understanding. I think my…

The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is make them love what they are studying and also make the subject one of their strengths. I believe the most important things a tutor can do for a student is to be direct when instructing students. Tutors must assist to help students expanding their minds with knowledge. I believe that an effective tutor will help the student develop as a learner and problem solver, not only in the subject tutored, and give them lifelong study skills. I believe there are two things that are most important for a tutor. The first is not only knowing what area of help the student is in need of, but understanding why they need help with that, which is then enlightening as a tutor in how they should receive assistance. The second point is to be approachable and kind, so that students feel as though…

I believe that as a tutor is to help students to believe in themselves. As we help them and guide them through different questions and explaining different concepts and doing exercises, it’s important to also remind the student once they get a question correct to acknowledge that they have done it and push for them to keep going. They do have…

Choosing Ezymath Tutoring was the best decision I've made. The process was extremely easy and the service provided by the team is outstanding. We have been using Ezymath for only one term and my sons have already seen a significant improvement in their results thanks to their wonderful tutor. Will continue the tutoring going forward and highly recommend Ezymath to any parent looking for help and additional support for their kids education.

Inside Elizabeth NorthTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 4 student Emily worked on reading comprehension, spelling tricky words, and practising basic addition and subtraction facts.

For Year 9, Sam revised area and perimeter calculations for rectangles and triangles using step-by-step practice questions, then moved on to constructing angles with a protractor and understanding circle concepts.

In Year 10, Olivia focused on solving quadratic equations by factorising expressions and finding roots, as well as applying the quadratic formula to different types of problems.

Recent Challenges

A Year 10 student preparing for biology and English struggled to bring key materials (test papers, "The Merchant of Venice") to sessions, limiting review opportunities—"we couldn't use the handouts or test because they weren't there."

In Year 11, another left selecting research articles until the last minute, which cost time and forced rushed decisions.

For a younger learner in Year 4, skipping steps when solving equations made it harder to spot errors: "he tended to skip steps and not explain them."

In these moments, forgotten resources or shortcuts meant precious lesson time went toward catching up instead of building new skills.

Recent Achievements

One Elizabeth North tutor noticed that a Year 8 student, previously hesitant to speak up, now asks for clarification during algebra sessions and double-checks her answers instead of leaving questions blank.

In a recent high school maths session, Chelsea independently solved complex equations using both substitution and elimination methods—last term she struggled with choosing which method to use.

Meanwhile, in Year 3 English, Chase has begun breaking down difficult words by tapping out the sounds on the table—a strategy he now uses without prompting after weeks of needing reminders. Last session, he read the next page aloud using this new approach.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Playford Civic Centre Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Elizabeth North Primary School.
