Geography Tutor Hillbank, SA
I think that a tutor must be patient and remain composed with each student. A tutor is meant to be that person whose teaching is tailored, so it requires an individualized approach, picked up and constantly adjusted as needs change and develop. I have (as told to me by all my ever-suffering associates) a 'wild' vocabulary, and for English…

I think the most important thing that a tutor can do for their student is remaining patient and continue to persevere with the content. In my experience, if I didn't understand a concept or was struggling with a question, it was extremely helpful when my tutor continued to talk me through the topic and didn't get frustrated at me for not…

Local Reviews

Choosing Ezymath Tutoring was the best decision I've made. The process was extremely easy and the service provided by the team is outstanding. We have been using Ezymath for only one term and my sons have already seen a significant improvement in their results thanks to their wonderful tutor. Will continue the tutoring going forward and highly recommend Ezymath to any parent looking for help and additional support for their kids education.

Inside Elizabeth NorthTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 4 student Emily worked on reading comprehension, spelling tricky words, and practising basic addition and subtraction facts.

For Year 9, Sam revised area and perimeter calculations for rectangles and triangles using step-by-step practice questions, then moved on to constructing angles with a protractor and understanding circle concepts.

In Year 10, Olivia focused on solving quadratic equations by factorising expressions and finding roots, as well as applying the quadratic formula to different types of problems.

Recent Challenges

A Year 10 student preparing for biology and English struggled to bring key materials (test papers, "The Merchant of Venice") to sessions, limiting review opportunities—"we couldn't use the handouts or test because they weren't there."

In Year 11, another left selecting research articles until the last minute, which cost time and forced rushed decisions.

For a younger learner in Year 4, skipping steps when solving equations made it harder to spot errors: "he tended to skip steps and not explain them."

In these moments, forgotten resources or shortcuts meant precious lesson time went toward catching up instead of building new skills.

Recent Achievements

One Elizabeth North tutor noticed that a Year 8 student, previously hesitant to speak up, now asks for clarification during algebra sessions and double-checks her answers instead of leaving questions blank.

In a recent high school maths session, Chelsea independently solved complex equations using both substitution and elimination methods—last term she struggled with choosing which method to use.

Meanwhile, in Year 3 English, Chase has begun breaking down difficult words by tapping out the sounds on the table—a strategy he now uses without prompting after weeks of needing reminders. Last session, he read the next page aloud using this new approach.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Playford Civic Centre Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Elizabeth North Primary School.
