PDHPE Tutor Salisbury Heights, SA
I believe the most important thing which a tutor can do for a student is not only teach them what they need to know but teach them the skills which they need to succeed on their own. I believe this because although a tutor can help with their learning, they can't be there every single step of the way, especially after high school. These skills…

Inside Fairview ParkTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 5 student Alex worked through arranging fractions on a number line and explored the relationship between fractions and decimals.

In Year 10, Emma practised applying the area of a triangle formula to different problems and built confidence with function notation, also touching on physics formulas for an upcoming test.

Meanwhile, Year 11 student Noah revised exponential functions and logarithms, focusing on growth and decay models using real-world scenarios.

Recent Challenges

In Year 9 Maths, a student's messy working made solutions difficult to follow—"he needs to be a little cautious of the way he sets out his working," one tutor noted.

In Year 12 Biology, another student hesitated to ask clarifying questions during lessons on homeostasis, limiting deeper understanding and feedback use.

Meanwhile, in Year 7, poor time management led to incomplete assignments and stress balancing schoolwork with other activities.

A lack of confidence surfaced across several year levels: students second-guessed themselves or doubted correct steps in algebra and geometry problems, leading to hesitation rather than steady progress.

Recent Achievements

One Fairview Park tutor noticed a big shift in a Year 11 student who used to be hesitant about physics—she's now managing her study time much better and recently celebrated a strong test result that gave her an extra boost.

In Year 10, another student who was once reluctant to speak up has started asking more questions during sessions and is now checking her answers on her own, even tackling extra homework without prompting.

Meanwhile, a younger primary student who previously struggled with reading aloud managed to finish an entire chapter from "The Faraway Tree" by herself this week.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as City of Tea Tree Gully Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Surrey Downs Primary School.
