The most important things a tutor can do for a student is to provide guidance and help whenever a student needs it. By providing students with the necessary help on problems that they may be struggling with, they will develop their own approach to solving problems and will eventually solve similar problems without assistance. As a tutor, I believe…

I believe one of the most important things a tutor can do for a student is be encouraging and understanding. As a student it can be hard and that is the reason you are getting tutoring. So to have someone encourage you can be a great reason to keep learning. I think my strengths as a tutor would be my patience and communication skills, as they are…

Tutor North Gosford, NSW
Being a past past studnet at many various tutoring places, the most important quality for a tutor is to able to incur a friendly yet working relationship with their students. This will help students to be comfortable enough to ask any questions about concepts they do not understand. As I have just finished high school last year, I believe I will…

Inside FountaindaleTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 5 student Liv worked on applying index laws, especially with powers of fractions and the zero index law, using clear examples to build confidence.

Year 8 student Jayden practised rearranging algebraic equations and explored linear relations by creating tables of values.

Meanwhile, Year 10 student Ryan focused on surface area calculations for cylinders and applied these concepts through practical problem-solving activities.

Recent Challenges

In Year 10 Maths, one student showed a pattern of not completing modules before sessions or leaving revision until the last minute—this made test preparation less effective and left key concepts unmastered. As one tutor noted, "he has no idea about some of the module questions when quizzed."

In Year 5, another student struggled to keep work neat and often forgot to write out their working, leading to confusion when reviewing steps.

Meanwhile, in senior Physics, forgetting to reference notes or proofread answers meant avoidable errors slipped through during assessments.

Recent Achievements

A Fountaindale tutor noticed that Liv, a high school student, initially used her intuition for index laws with powers of fractions but, after some encouragement, shifted to applying the correct techniques—she then aced those challenging problems without extra help.

Another win came from Jayden in Year 10, who used to rely heavily on guidance with rearranging equations but recently managed to work through almost all problems independently and only asked when truly stuck.

In primary sessions, Anureet struggled with the 11 times tables above 10×11; after learning a clear strategy, she confidently answered every question during practice.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Tuggerah Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Central Coast Steiner School.
