Learning biology is cumulative, you can't really skip any steps because the concepts are intricately interconnected. Before you can take on complex concepts and processes, you need to understand the basics. With the help of a tutor most students find it easier to learn how to use drawings and diagrams, read with purpose, utilize lab notes
and use the knowledge in new situations so it really sticks.

The majority of this month was spent doing prep work for Brad's upcoming Trial Specialist Exam. As such, I focused more on content than learning strategies. Bradley has started taking notes, although it still is an area that I need to work on with him to build up consistency. Talking aloud, back checking, self questioning, format skills and avoiding lazy thinking are all satisfactory. The other areas still need a little work.
Happy to learn, and willing to communicate. I would like to see him do more example questions and past papers in his own time. Commendable habits overall, however I would like to point out that he should try to understand mistakes more. Aim to learn from each mistake better, and take notes on mistakes so he can avoid making them again.
Knowledge gaps in geometry in several particular areas including internal/external angles of polygons, identifying and providing reasoning to difficult questions about angle equality. Geometry: Difficulty in applying several previously learnt concepts and rules to answer advanced geometry questions Algebra: Small amount of silly mistakes and needs to be careful when dealing with the addition or multiplication of algebraic fractions.

Yes we are very happy with Jacinta. She is lovely and Emily likes her. She seems to be very suited to Emily, as she has a very practical approach to helping Emily with her Math's, and understood straight away what Emily's basic needs were. We look forward to Jacinta tutoring Emily this year.
The tutoring with Alex is going very well - Sophie is enjoying it and learning too!
MIchael has enjoyed Nathan's tutoring sessions. My son found Nathan's theory far more informative and much clearer then his current maths teacher. Michael connected well with Nathan.
