I think the most important thing that a tutor can do for their student is remaining patient and continue to persevere with the content. In my experience, if I didn't understand a concept or was struggling with a question, it was extremely helpful when my tutor continued to talk me through the topic and didn't get frustrated at me for not…

Geography Tutor Hillbank, SA
I think that a tutor must be patient and remain composed with each student. A tutor is meant to be that person whose teaching is tailored, so it requires an individualized approach, picked up and constantly adjusted as needs change and develop. I have (as told to me by all my ever-suffering associates) a 'wild' vocabulary, and for English…

Local Reviews

EzyMath Tutoring has been my first experience in engaging a tutor for my son, who is in year 8. He loves maths, but can take a little longer to grasp concepts and I wanted to ensure that he kept up with modules so that he remained commited and engaged. Our tutor, Sakshi, has been such a pleasure to work with - calm, skilled and able to engage positively with my son. After just three sessions I'm seeing my son's confidence grow and his grades improve. Highly recommended! The support from the EzyMath Tutoring team has also been fantastic.

Inside One Tree HillTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 4 student Ben worked on finding parts of a whole using fractions and tackled division and factors through hands-on examples.

For Year 9, Mia focused on solving quadratic equations by factorising and identifying roots, as well as exploring surface area by unfolding 3D shapes into nets.

Meanwhile, Year 10 student Lucas revised trigonometric ratios to find missing angles and sides in triangles, then applied the cosine rule to real-world word problems involving triangle geometry.

Recent Challenges

In Year 10 mathematics, a student was hesitant to write out algebraic steps, relying on mental calculation instead—"she has excellent mental math skills and hence the writing part takes a back seat," as one tutor observed. This led to small sign errors during equation solving, which slowed progress in more complex topics.

Meanwhile, a Year 7 student working on angle properties completed all calculations but struggled to recall key definitions when asked for reasoning, indicating that written revision notes had not been reviewed between sessions.

In Year 4 English, skipping words when reading aloud meant missing context clues and undermined comprehension during follow-up questions.

Recent Achievements

In Year 11, Chelsea used to hesitate when tackling trigonometry, but now she's confidently applying the sine rule on her own and has started practicing the cosine rule to keep up with class.

Caitlin, also in high school, is showing real independence—she attempts almost all problems by herself during sessions and quickly grasps new methods like elimination without needing prompts.

Meanwhile, Chase (Year 5) struggled to stick with word puzzles before, but now he eagerly plays multiple rounds per lesson and can find over ten words each time without help.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Playford Civic Centre Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like One Tree Hill Primary School.
