Business Studies Tutor Birrong, NSW
Communication between a tutor and a student is very important. If a student can not understand what a tutor delivers then it is waste of time for both of them. My strengths are to think the way as a student thinks and explain accordingly. I believe in explaining the logic rather than making the student memorize…

Business Studies Tutor Canley Vale, NSW
I believe tutors need to understand their students, given that not all individuals hold the same skills or pace of learning and as such, need to be taken into consideration or have the lesson plans catered to their needs. Tutors must, nonetheless, put in large amounts of effort to ensure the student receives and understands theory that is taught,…

Business Studies Tutor Casula, NSW
Enriching a students' knowledge of a topic and allowing that increased knowledge to shine through their academic prowess within their schooling efforts. My strengths would definitely be my strong knowledge of literature as well as my growing ability to teach. My only weakness, if I had to choose one would be my age, as I am still quite…

Business Studies Tutor Lurnea, NSW
Being able to give them the independence of trying a question and then spending a reasonable amount of time trying to solve it rather than only explaining for the full tutoring session. My strength would be pinpointing what the student doesn't understand and using analogies or using patterns from concepts they already understand to portray the…

Business Studies Tutor Glenfield, NSW
The most important thing tutors can do is support their students which includes adapting lessons to individual learning styles and needs. Along with pinpointing any gaps in knowledge, and help the students understand those areas. Along with listening to them, about what things they struggle with and what they’re already good at. My strengths…

Inside PananiaTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 5 student Lucas worked on converting fractions to decimals and percentages, as well as understanding probability by assigning chances on a number line.

For Year 9, Sarah practised solving quadratic equations both by factorising and using the quadratic formula.

Meanwhile, Year 10 student Michael focused on financial maths topics including calculating income, overtime, and commission with real-world examples.

Recent Challenges

In Year 10 mathematics, one student's algebra working was "messy and hard to follow," making it difficult to trace errors—especially when multiplying with negatives.

During a Year 11 timed English task, another student struggled to interpret questions and showed little experience with exam pacing, resulting in incomplete responses.

In a Year 5 session, the urge for perfection led to over-erasing and hiding mistakes instead of correcting them openly; this slowed progress during division drills.

When confidence dipped in Year 4 maths, motivation lagged: "He hesitated on timestables, often pausing mid-question," leaving newer concepts unpracticed as anxiety set in.

Recent Achievements

One Panania tutor noticed a Year 10 student who had previously mixed up formulas is now reliably using the correct method to calculate gross and net income, even in tricky worded questions.

In Year 8 maths, a student who used to rush through factorising binomials is taking time to check each step—last session, he caught and fixed his own mistake without prompting.

Meanwhile, in primary sessions, a Year 4 student who hesitated with times tables now jumps confidently between 3s and 8s by using "jumping points" for recall; she finished her set of multiplication problems with no help needed.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Panania Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like St Christopher's Catholic Primary School.
