The most important thing tutor a tutor can do is to teach students to solve problems independently. The tutor should teach not only how steps to complete the problems but also the logic behind the problems. Thus, students could solve similar or harder questions on their own the next time. One of my strengths is that I know how to adjust the…

The most important things I can provided to the student are an approachable, enriching learning environment. An enriching learning environment is like a petri-dish full of nutrients. The role of tutors is to help the students absorb as much of these 'nutrients' (i.e. knowledge and skills) as they can in an effective and enjoyable way. I believe my…

One of the most important things I can do as a tutor is to ensure my students leave sessions with no doubts, fully understanding the covered content. The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to unlock their potential. It’s not just about explaining concepts—it’s about making the student believe they can conquer anything. A tutor should inspire confidence, turning frustration into progress, and showing students they’re capable of more than they think. It’s about being…

The msot important thing a tutor can do for a student is give the student confidence and the ability to learn and understand areas that they may be weakest at a faster rate and to help the student achieve their goals. Patience and confidence in a student is what a tutor needs and has to implement for a student so that the student themself will…

As a tutor, our main obligation is to implement methods of teaching that allows students to understanding the materials in a way that isnt too complex, but at the sametime, yields the required results when the time comes around. Key to the student's success is built on having someone that they can turn to if they require advice or support, not…

Business Studies Tutor Cabramatta West, NSW
I think the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is really listen to what they have to say and be patient. Some students may have the right idea in essence but not the right answer. It from building their idea to make them realise how close they are to having the right answer to the question. Shutting down a student and giving them…

Inside South GranvilleTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 11 student Favour reviewed mistakes from the 2020 Western Past Paper and tackled several questions from the 2019 paper, focusing on clarifying tricky concepts.

Year 12 student went through HSC depreciation questions and selected problems from the WME Trial 2023, addressing practical finance calculations.

Another Year 12 student worked on trigonometry with right-angled triangles and bearings, using textbook exercises to build confidence in applying these skills to exam-style scenarios.

Recent Challenges

In Year 12 English, one student's essays showed frequent repetition and unclear connections between ideas—"he needs to use a greater variety of connectives in his writing"—making responses harder to follow under timed conditions.

In Year 10 Mathematics, a student often left out units in answers and sometimes forgot essential materials for lessons; as noted, "homework and materials should be brought to every lesson."

Meanwhile, a Year 6 learner hesitated to attempt more difficult fraction problems, sticking with familiar examples instead of challenging herself. This led to slower improvement on test-style questions requiring deeper understanding.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in South Granville recently noticed a Year 12 student who, after previously missing marks for unclear essay structure, took feedback on board and began rewriting his thesis statements more thoughtfully, even re-reading completed essays for better analysis.

In another session, a high schooler prepping for the HSC started working with friends outside of lessons to prepare quotes and themes—showing much more initiative than before.

Meanwhile, a younger student who once hesitated to ask questions now actively seeks help whenever she's unsure about maths problems, instead of guessing or skipping them.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Auburn Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Blaxcell Street Public School.
