What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
One of the most enjoyable aspects of tutoring are witnessing your student have the 'aha' moment when the concept finally clicks. It's incredibly rewarding to watch a student's interest in the subject renew because they are able to understand it at a deeper level. Another aspect is being able to create an environment comfortable enough for the student to ask any questions they may have. "There are no stupid questions in this space" is the energy I want to create for my students. Being able to contribute to a student's growth and educational journey is what makes tutoring so fulfilling to me.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My strengths as a tutor lie in my ability to simplify complex concepts, adapt to diverse learning needs, and creating a welcoming space for questions and exploration. Patience and attentive listening allow me to understand students' challenges deeply. I also bring a strong passion for the subjects I teach, which translates into enthusiasm that can inspire and engage my students. Overall, my strengths involve clear communication, empathy, and a genuine dedication helping students thrive.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important things a tutor can do for a student is providing clear explanations, fostering a comfortable learning atmosphere, and tailoring teaching methods to suit the student. Effective communication and active listening is key in identifying areas of struggle and providing targeted assistance. It's critical to cultivate deeper understanding by encouraging critical thinking and problem-solving, while building the student's confidence and self-esteem through positive reinforcement. Ultimately, a tutor's role goes beyond academics and is key in instilling a lifelong love of learning.

The lesson went well as we were able to focus on what the student actually needed help with and were able to collaborate on the task together.

An area of concern would be my lack of experience with the PSMT style of assessment combined with the student's struggle may prevent us from doing what the task actually requires of us. To ensure this doesn't happen, I, as a tutor, am researching on what the task entails in detail and I have guided the student in utilising their teachers, who will be responsible for grading this assessment.
