What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I discovered my passion for teaching and explaining concepts about two years ago when I started tutoring. It's incredibly fulfilling for me to assist students who are grappling with challenging concepts. Watching them overcome their academic challenges and witnessing their confidence grow brings me immense joy. Personally, tutoring has been supporting me in refining my skills, and it provides a profound sense of accomplishment. It also keeps my own understanding of these concepts fresh. I enjoy the relationship that I establish with the students and the mutual growth mindset we share.

In addition to my solid subject knowledge, my tutoring experience has refined my adaptability. I recognise that each student comes with their own distinctive learning style and requirements. I am fully aware that students often seek tutoring due to challenges with understanding concepts. As a result, I approach my sessions with patience, ensuring that I deliver the material in a manner that aligns with their preferred pace and style (e.g. setting SMART goals). Furthermore, I make it a point to offer constructive feedback to my students while also encouraging them to reciprocate.

I emphasise providing ample support to encourage them to solve problems independently, which cultivates their problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities. I also stay updated and explore alternate explanations to offer students a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter.
