What do I enjoy most about tutoring? ๐
I find tutoring to be a really rewarding experience as you get to form meaningful connections with students and help them achieve their goals. While itโs not always an easy thing to do, I love being able to simplify complex issues for my students. Problem-solving is an area Iโve always been drawn to in my life and tutoring is precisely that. Itโs also wonderful to see not only academic development in students, but growth in other personal aspects of their life like their confidence.
My Strengths as Tutor ๐ช
Iโm a clear communicator which allows me to explain concepts in simple terms and gauge what my students really need assistance with. I am also able to tailor my approach to suit individual learning styles. As Iโve spent a lot of time myself in the Victorian education system, I have plenty of personal tips and tricks that are likely to be relevant to my students. Additionally, I have consistent availabilities so I will be able to provide timely assistance to my students.
Most important things I can do for a student ๐
I believe itโs important for tutors to create a supportive environments for students. This will allow them to feel comfortable and open to learning. Learning is almost impossible in an environment where students do no feel safe. I also think itโs important for tutors to give students the opportunity to share their learning to encourage active participation. I find that lecturing students is often less effective than prompting students to have a go first. It is also important to be patient and understanding, especially as some students may be quite stressed when it comes to their academics.
