What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

Throughout my education, I've noticed that many teachers at the schools I've attended didn't actually understand the subjects they were teaching. I was often forced to learn independently and outsourced part of my education from YouTube channels (3Blue1Brown) in order to thoroughly understand a topic. I enjoy helping my students avoid the pain of doing this. I enjoy giving my students an in-depth, thorough explanation that is personalised for them so that they truly grasp any concepts they have difficulty understanding.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I have a strong understanding of the subjects I teach, which I believe is an important criterion for what makes a good tutor. I achieved a raw score of 40 for both VCE Methods and Physics and achieved high distinction in all the math/science units I have taken so far in my university degree. I believe that I have an in-depth understanding of math and physics and know how to achieve stellar results. I know that by sharing my understanding of math and physics with the students I teach, they can achieve the same results that I achieved.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I believe that taking into consideration the students' learning styles and strengths, as well as giving them a thorough explanation of topics, will allow them to achieve excellent results. The main advantage of tutoring compared to other ways of learning (textbooks, videos) is that tutoring is more individualised and changes from student to student. I believe that tutors need to explain concepts thoroughly for students to be able to solve non-routine problems. Part of being a good tutor is explaining the different ways to look at a problem, not just one way to solve it.
