What do I enjoy most about tutoring? ๐
For me, tutoring is a journey. I believe in comprehensive learning which emphasizes on conceptual clarity. Being able to break down the basics, making the knowledge relatable for students by giving relevant examples and explanation, is an important aspect of tutoring for me.
I enjoy witnessing their growth and strive to create a positive attitude towards knowledge and learning. The opportunity to interact with young minds gives me a chance to learn from them too, and is one of the aspects of tutoring I enjoy most.
My Strengths as Tutor ๐ช
I believe my best asset as a tutor is my ability to empathize with students. It is critical to practice patience when communicating with young minds, take cognizance of their unique strengths and weaknesses, and provide help or guidance wherever required.
Having studied and practiced design formally, I also think I am able to come up with creative means of teaching and communication, especially when engaging with younger students. I also try to instill the idea of โany question is a right questionโ in my students to enable them in becoming independent thinkers and inquisitive individuals.
Most important things I can do for a student ๐
Re-iterating my answer, I believe it is crucial to identify and understand every childโs unique ability and help them keeping in mind their strengths.
Building individual relationships with each student is another important thing a tutor can do for a student since it equips them with a sense of being seen, heard and recognized, further giving them an increased sense of confidence.
It is also very important to foster healthy relationships with the students which encourage open communication, enabling students to participate in class and not feel hesitant to ask questions.
