I think that it's important for tutors to be patient and understanding. Just because a child doesn't get good test scores, it doesn't mean that they're incompetent. There were a few times where I had to explain parts of the questions to her, she'd probably need more practice with these kinds of questions, both the topics and the phrasing used for them on exams.
Kita was able to get used to skip counting as it mostly just involves repetitive simple addition which she is already good at.
