What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I personally most enjoy the connection I create with students. I’ve always enjoyed working with kids, and being able to watch them grow and learn. One of my favorite parts of teaching is when a child who has been struggling to understand something – whether it’s multi-digit multiplication or crafting a thesis – finally has that light-bulb moment and is able to independently apply all the strategies I have taught them.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I'm very outgoing and I find it easy to make strong personal connections with the students I teach. Through building a rapport and having kids be excited about coming to tutoring, I've found that their excitement translates into a greater ability to learn things which they may be struggling to learn in a classroom setting.
I also excel in being able to break down complex concepts into simple steps. In doing so I aim to identify what a child is struggling with, taking a step back to the foundations and making sure that there is a strong base of knowledge from the ground up.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Oftentimes I have found that children who are in tutoring struggle with their confidence in their work. Especially with younger students, I believe the most important thing is showing them how to trust their own decision making skills, and finding ways to make learning become fun and engaging in new ways.
