What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy witnessing the "light-bulb" moments when students finally grasp a concept. It is incredibly rewarding to see their confidence grow as they bridge a knowledge gap. Helping students develop a deeper understanding and seeing their progress over time makes tutoring both fulfilling and meaningful.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe one of my strengths as a tutor is my ability to tailor explanations to suit each student's learning style. I can break down complex concepts in multiple ways, making them more accessible and easier to understand. I strive to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions. I am also patient and organised.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Understanding that each student has a unique learning style and tailoring lessons to meet their needs is essential. A tutor should provide clear explanations, encourage critical thinking, and foster a positive learning environment.

Zarraf remained engaged throughout the session and showed improved fluency when reading aloud, especially during the more descriptive passages. He was able to summarise the main events of the story well.
While Zarraf is often able to follow the storyline, he sometimes misses subtle links between earlier and later events or between characters’ actions and their consequences. As this was Zarraf’s final session with me for the time being, I have passed on relevant notes and observations to his next tutor to ensure a smooth transition and continued progress.

Zarraf had a few ‘lightbulb’ moments while reading, successfully connecting different parts of the storyline and recognising character relationships. He also found the vocabulary activities more accessible this week, which helped build his confidence.
Zarraf occasionally showed a tendency to give up too quickly when scanning for context clues, despite being capable of working them out independently. We’re working on encouraging persistence, offering support while also prompting him to think through challenging words before providing answers.
