What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy the feeling of fulfilment in being able to help a student understand a concept they were struggling with, and to see them grow more passionate and confident in their learning.

- At the moment, Marley’s doing really well with algebra so next week I’ll give her an algebra practise test either as a worksheet or on Mathsonline

- Zander has a really strong understanding of the coordinate plane, perimeter, geometry, equivalent fractions, probability, addition, subtraction and multiplication especially - Zander mostly remembers how to do long division which we put extra work in last term during our tutoring lessons
- Even though Zander’s very good with mental arithmetic, he sometimes makes errors so I’m encouraging him to write out his working out, but can still work out the final answer mentally. - Some more practise with money problems (calculating the change)

- Marley’s really getting the hang of expanding, she could do Area of a rectangle word problems and harder expanding questions. - We did some harder Adding Algebraic Fractions questions which Marley was doing well with once she got a bit of guidance on how to start.
- At the moment, Marley’s doing really well, just take extra care when dealing with negatives (eg when adding two negative numbers, double negatives and negatives in front of brackets).

- Marley has a strong understanding of factorising by taking out the highest common factor, and is good at expanding with single and double brackets - She now knows how to expand double brackets by using the FOIL method
- When factorising, double check if it is fully factorised - When expanding, ensure like terms are added correctly.
