What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy the feeling of fulfilment in being able to help a student understand a concept they were struggling with, and to see them grow more passionate and confident in their learning.

Continued revision of these areas during the holidays would help Marley prepare for year 10: - Algebra: adding like terms, multiplying terms with indices, index laws, substitution. - Probability: finding probabilities of two events happening, complement rule P(A) + P(A’) = 1

- Zander’s really got the hang of long division now, and he has a good intuitive spatial awareness when drawing 3D shapes, and was able to correct the 3D shape when the sides/dimensions weren’t drawn correctly.
- Zander’s done really well this term, and has a very strong overall foundation for maths. Over the holidays, I’ve given him some word problem worksheets on adding/subtracting fractions and decimals, volume and capacity and money so he’s keeping active with the maths.
- I can tell Zander’s long division muscle memory is building strong since we’ve been focusing on it this term.

- Zander’s doing really well, next week we’ll just continue practising long division and work on drawing 3D shapes on isometric paper.

- Marley’s really getting the hang of trigonometry questions and is more confident with rearranging the equation with sin, cos and tan to find x. - She remembers how to do questions on angles of elevation from earlier in the year and understands how to interpret the word problem into a diagram. - Marley’s very good at solving equations with fractions. - Marley’s working out was a little messy, so I advised to do working out going down the page, rather than across, and drawing a box around your answer, and she took that advice on board.
- Overall, Marley’s doing really well with the topics we’ve been revising, just paying close attention to rounding your answers correctly as it says in the question (eg to 3 significant figures or 1 decimal place) - More practise with harder equations with fractions would help take it to the next level :)
