What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy watching people succeed. I remember last year in grade 12 where some of my peers would struggle with upcoming exams or assignments, i would teach them key topics or re-teach previous lessons to help them better understand the task. After attaining their desired marks they would come up and thank me which is why i really enjoy teaching people.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe that I am very passionate about the subjects that I teach in the sense that I enjoy teaching people about different subjects and I believe that no matter where a students capabilities lie I will be able to assist in one way or another.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
There are three things that I would consider to be the most important would be building confidence, providing clarity but also foster independent learning. Firstly, many students struggle, not because they lack ability but because doubt themselves, thus by acknowledging progress no matter how small will help students believe in their own potential. Secondly, tutors should also break down complex ideas into more simple ideas to ensure students truly understand the material at hand rather than memorizing it. Finally, tutors should also nurture students solving problems on their own.

There was significant improvement compared to last week. Majed understood the reasoning behind making the denominators the same and was able to follow the process more confidently. Once he grasped that fractions need a common denominator to represent equal parts, he was able to complete harder questions with much more independence.
Majed still needs continued practice to ensure the process becomes automatic, especially identifying the lowest common multiple without prompting. We will continue reinforcing this foundation so he can confidently move into subtracting and more complex fraction problems.

Majed engaged well with the vocabulary activity and is becoming more independent in researching word meanings. In maths, he was able to follow the steps for finding the LCM and adding fractions with guidance. His confidence with fraction operations is slowly improving.
Majed still needs more practice forming clear and accurate sentences with new vocabulary. In maths, he needs continued reinforcement of multiplication and division skills, as these are essential for working with fractions. We will continue to build on this foundation and later move into subtracting and dividing fractions.

Majed engaged well with the vocabulary activity and was able to understand new words once they were clearly explained. Assigning the vocabulary as homework will help reinforce learning. In maths, he began to recognize the patterns in integer sign rules and showed early understanding when guided through examples.
Majed needs more practice with the concept of integers, especially understanding whole numbers and the meaning of positive versus negative values. The sign rules will also need to be revisited and practised further to build confidence and fluency. Continued vocabulary development is important so unfamiliar words do not block his understanding of questions.

Majed was able to read the text confidently. Once unfamiliar words were explained, he showed good understanding and was able to grasp the meaning of the questions. He picked up new vocabulary well during the lesson and responded positively when definitions were broken down into simple, relatable explanations.
Majed still needs to continue developing his vocabulary, as unfamiliar words can prevent him from understanding questions independently. He also needs more practice stopping to ask about words he doesn’t know, rather than trying to guess the meaning. Building vocabulary will be an important ongoing focus to support his reading comprehension.
