What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy watching people succeed. I remember last year in grade 12 where some of my peers would struggle with upcoming exams or assignments, i would teach them key topics or re-teach previous lessons to help them better understand the task. After attaining their desired marks they would come up and thank me which is why i really enjoy teaching people.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe that I am very passionate about the subjects that I teach in the sense that I enjoy teaching people about different subjects and I believe that no matter where a students capabilities lie I will be able to assist in one way or another.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
There are three things that I would consider to be the most important would be building confidence, providing clarity but also foster independent learning. Firstly, many students struggle, not because they lack ability but because doubt themselves, thus by acknowledging progress no matter how small will help students believe in their own potential. Secondly, tutors should also break down complex ideas into more simple ideas to ensure students truly understand the material at hand rather than memorizing it. Finally, tutors should also nurture students solving problems on their own.

Majed responded well to the step-by-step explanations and began to recognise the relationship between multiplication and division. He was able to understand that solving equations involves reversing the operation that has been applied to the variable. This was an important breakthrough, as it helped him see the reasoning behind the maths rather than simply memorising steps.
Majed still needs more practice with multiplication and division facts, as these are fundamental skills that support algebra and more advanced maths topics. While he understands the concept of using opposite operations, he sometimes requires prompting to identify which operation should be reversed. Continued revision and practice will help build his confidence and fluency in solving equations independently.

Majed showed a good understanding of the overall persuasive structure and was able to identify where different arguments and supporting evidence should be placed within his speech. In maths, he engaged well with the basic algebra questions and was able to solve simple equations once the process was demonstrated.
Majed still needs more practice applying the persuasive structure independently when writing his own speech. For algebra, he is beginning to understand the concepts but will benefit from additional practice to build confidence and improve accuracy when solving equations without assistance. Continued revision of both topics will help strengthen his understanding and retention.

Majed engaged well with the editing process and was receptive to feedback. He was able to understand how changing certain words and sentence structures could make his arguments stronger and easier for an audience to follow. He also showed a willingness to practise speaking his points aloud, which helped improve his confidence.
Majed still needs more practice with public speaking and delivering his ideas naturally rather than reading directly from notes. Continuing to rehearse his speech and focusing on speaking clearly, maintaining eye contact, and emphasising key points will help him become a more confident presenter.

Majed engaged very well with the discussion and showed good interest in building arguments to support his side of the debate. He was able to contribute ideas and understand how evidence and examples strengthen a persuasive argument. His confidence in discussing the topic improved throughout the lesson.
The next step for Majed is to apply the research and ideas into a structured persuasive speech. He will need more practice using persuasive techniques such as rhetorical questions, emotive language, and strong topic sentences to make his argument more convincing. Continued work on structuring his ideas clearly and confidently will help strengthen his final speech.
