What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
Witnessing the growth of a student in their abilities and, more importantly, their self-confidence in said abilities has always been the most rewarding part as a tutor. I have always made an effort to ensure students are able to tackle what was once a difficult question on their own, and knowing that they have put in the work to reach their goals instils pride in themselves as well as myself as their tutor.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
I have always personlised lesson plans to each of my previous students who all have greatly benefited from this type of teaching approach. I will always work with students to cater to their academic goals and needs. Whether it is helping them understand school assigned homework or providing additional materials to solidify and advance their knowledge, I will endeavour to be the type of tutor that they need. If a student finds a topic difficult to understand, I will break down the problem or rephrase it in different ways until they are successfully able to grasp how to approach it head on.
Most important things I can do for a student π
I believe that truly listening to and understanding a studentβs life ambitions lies at the core of a successful tutoring partnership. While I want to be able to help students with academic goals, I also want to act as a mentor who can encourage and motivate them to reach their full potential in any area, as well develop work ethic and confidence to embolden them in their future paths. I have previous experience mentoring at the university level for students in undergraduate and post-graduate degrees, providing advice and personal experience to guide them through university and life.
