What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
When I am able to explain concepts or events successfully (by success, I mean when others show understanding), I'm filled with a sense of satisfaction and pride. One, because I believe that learning is a joy that should be spread to all. And two, because I feel that it is proof of how well I understand the topic and how well I can communicate it to others.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My key strengths would be my ability to break down core concepts so that they would be easy to digest and understand. As well as my ability to demonstrate a high degree of patience and empathy for those that I teach through words of encouragement and a positive attitude.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
In terms of teaching, naturally, preparing practise questions allows the student to apply learnt material. However in addition to that, I believe that breaking down concepts in its most simple form is crucial to build a strong foundation and understanding.
On the other hand, in regards to attitude, it is highly important to have patience and empathy for the student. To reprimand or reproach them based on their pace of learning or ability to absorb content can be discouraging, demotivating and most of all, it is not the most effective or healthy way to learn.
