What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
In addition to seeing a student grasp a topic or concept, I love seeing the students shift in confidence once they have a clear understanding of a topic when they realise they actually can tackle a question or concept that could have once felt overwhelming or challenging. I also love being able to connect with students and learn about different learning styles to adapt tutoring to suit the student.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
One of my strengths which I believe is key is my ability to actively listen and adaptability, I am patient and attentive which will allow me to understand a students teaching needs and wants which I can involve in my lessons to ensure each student is getting tutoring that suits their personal learning style. Academically, I am very confident in my fields and I am strong at breaking down complex concepts in to bite size chunks which will ensure the student learns the basics before tackling a challenge.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Fostering Independent thinking is valuable, while helping students along the way, it's important to help them believe in their own individual abilities. A students confidence will directly impact how they approach challenges and setbacks. I aim to build a a students confidence by creating an encouraging, supportive environment by focusing on their efforts and attitude, instead of purely focusing on results to ensure the student is constantly growing in confidence. I love seeing the shift of when a student knows they can take on a challenge compared to when they lacked any confidence.
