What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

What I enjoy most about tutoring is seeing that 'aha' moment when a student finally understands a concept they’ve been struggling with. It's incredibly rewarding to help build someone’s confidence and watch their skills grow over time. I also enjoy tailoring my approach to different learning styles and creating a positive, supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

My strengths as a tutor include patience, clear communication, and the ability to break down complex concepts into simpler, relatable terms. With my background in computer science and data science, I'm also able to support students with logical thinking and problem-solving. I’m empathetic, which helps me create a comfortable learning environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions and stay engaged.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I believe the most important things a tutor can do for a student are to build their confidence, foster independent thinking, and create a safe space for learning. It’s not just about helping them get the right answers, but also about guiding them to understand the ‘why’ behind concepts and encouraging curiosity. A good tutor listens, adapts their teaching style, and supports the student’s unique learning journey.

About ESTHER

Experience Supporting Young Learners

Esther has hands-on experience working directly with children in a classroom setting, assisting a Pre-Primary teacher to manage and engage a group of 4–5 year olds. She played an active role in creating interactive learning activities that encouraged curiosity and participation, ensuring young learners received individual attention and support. This background enables her to foster positive relationships with students while maintaining a structured environment where children feel comfortable to ask questions and grow academically.

Strong Communication and Engagement Skills

With extensive volunteer work focused on student wellbeing and inclusivity, Esther is skilled at building rapport and making students feel welcome—essential qualities for any effective tutor. Her time organising campus events and supporting fellow students demonstrates her ability to connect with diverse groups, explain concepts clearly, and create an engaging atmosphere both inside and outside the classroom. These experiences shape her approach as a tutor who is approachable, attentive, and able to adapt her style to each student''s needs.

Analytical Mindset Backed by STEM Education

Esther’s studies in computer science and data science have developed her analytical thinking—a valuable asset for teaching Maths in particular. She has worked on projects involving problem-solving skills such as developing fraud detection systems using large datasets. By blending these technical abilities with patience gained from her volunteering roles, she brings clarity to complex topics in Maths or English, helping students build confidence through practical examples tailored to their level.
