What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

What I enjoy most about tutoring is seeing that moment when something finally clicks for a student. It's incredibly rewarding to help someone go from confusion to confidence and to know I've supported their progress. I also enjoy finding different ways to explain things to suit each student's learning style. I think I enjoy it so much because I remember what it felt like to struggle in school. I know how frustrating it is when something doesn’t make sense, no matter how hard you try. That experience drives me to be the kind of tutor I would’ve needed.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

One of my biggest strengths as a tutor is patience. I’m happy to explain things in different ways until they make sense. I’m also good at adapting my teaching style to suit how each student learns, whether they prefer visuals, steps, or real-world examples. Another strength is empathy. Since I struggled in school at times, I understand how frustrating it can be. I try to create a space where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I genuinely want to see them succeed, and I think that comes through in how I teach.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I think one of the most important things a tutor can do is build a student’s confidence. It’s not just about helping them get the right answer, but helping them believe they’re capable of getting there on their own. A tutor should also create a supportive environment where the student feels safe to ask questions, make mistakes, and learn at their own pace. Finally, it’s important to adapt explanations to match the student’s learning style so they can truly understand the material, not just memorise it. It’s about empowering the student, not just instructing them.
