What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Although I haven’t tutored before, I’ve worked as a swim teacher with children of all ages and abilities, including those with autism and ADHD. I loved helping them learn new skills and build confidence in a supportive, hands-on way. I'm studying to become a pediatric nurse because I genuinely enjoy working with kids and supporting their growth. Tutoring feels like a natural extension of that passion.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I think my biggest strengths as a tutor would be my patience and my ability to manage groups calmly and effectively. As a swim teacher, I’ve learned how to keep children engaged while maintaining control of the class, even when working with kids who have additional needs like autism or ADHD. I stay calm under pressure and take the time to explain things in a way that suits each child’s learning style. I believe these skills would help me create a positive and focused learning environment as a tutor.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I think one of the most important things a tutor can do is adapt their teaching style to fit each student’s individual needs. Every child learns differently, so it’s important to be flexible and find the best approach for them. As a swim teacher, I’ve often had to adjust how I explain or demonstrate things depending on the child’s age, ability, or learning style. I also believe it’s essential to make students feel supported and confident. When they feel safe and encouraged, they’re much more open to learning and growing.
