What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Tutoring people gives me a sense of achievement in spreading the knowledge that I am familiar with to others. Being able to express and teach concepts to someone reaffirms my own knowledge and my confidence in the material. On top of this, tutoring also challenges me in making sure the concepts I've learnt actually make logical sense. When I'm unable to express a concept to someone in a step-by-step manner, it encourages me to learn more on the topic. Due to these aspects, I find tutoring to be a highly rewarding and gratifying activity.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
In tutoring, I find logical reasoning like teaching mathematics is my strong point. As there is a methodical and correct way to go through a question, mathematics is my strength in teaching subjects.
I also find my ability to empathise with students a strength. As a current student myself, I know there is frustration in studying certain concepts and tend to make sure students can grasp the foundations wholly before moving forward with harder content.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important thing a tutor can do for students is to nurture their desire to learn and continue learning.
This could be done by reinforcing the material whether they have yet to or already have learnt the material. By reinforcing it, students will have familiarity with the content and make it easier to tackle questions. As students feel less clueless and have some grasp on the content, there is positive reinforcement encouraging them to continue learning.
As a tutor, I hope to reinforce this phenomenon and encourage more students to love learning.
