What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy watching students figure out and understand new things. For Math specifically, I enjoy when I am able to turn things, that students thought were difficult or seemingly impossible to grasp, into something simpler that they can become more comfortable with. The progress that students go through is a fun thing to see for me. For Biology and Science, I enjoy sharing knowledge on these subjects. There are many wonderful things in the world that are under the umbrella of Science and Biology, teaching students on how interesting the world around them can be, is a source of enjoyment for me.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I believe that I am able to assess what students need help with. For Math, I believe that everyone has some parts of the subject where they excel and some where they might be weaker at. For example, I am weaker in geometry, not to say that I am not good at it, but that I would not be as confident in solving them as I would be in solving algebra or probability. I think that being able to observe and assess where a student needs help with and build confidence on what they are good at would allow me to assist them well as a tutor.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

A tutor needs to be able to have the appropriate expectation on what each unique student is able to accomplish and thus make adjustments appropriately. As every single student has different learning capabilities and speed, affected by a multitude of factors (i.e. age, environment, genetics, interests, etc.), a tutor would need to be able to make appropriate adjustments on their teaching program depending on their student. In a 1 to 1 tutoring especially, a single curriculum will not suffice for all students even if they were to be on the same grade.
