What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy watching students gain confidence in subjects they once found intimidating. Whether I’m helping a primary school student master basic math skills at Kumon or guiding a high school student through challenging science problems with Cluey Learning, it’s incredibly fulfilling to see that “lightbulb moment†when something finally clicks. I also love being able to tailor my teaching style to suit each student’s learning needs, and build genuine rapport along the way.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My key strengths lie in my ability to explain complex ideas in a simple, relatable way, and in my patience and adaptability. Through my experience across different tutoring environments, from structured programs like Kumon to interactive STEM workshops with Young Engineers. I’ve developed a flexible teaching approach that suits a range of learning styles. I’m also highly organised and committed to my students’ progress, often preparing customised resources or practising questions in advance to make sessions as effective as possible.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe the most important thing a tutor can do is create a safe, supportive learning environment that builds a student’s self-belief. A tutor should not only help improve academic outcomes but also nurture a growth mindset. This means celebrating effort, progress, and resilience not just correct answers. Whether I'm helping a student prepare for exams with Cluey Learning or teaching younger kids how to apply engineering principles through hands-on STEM kits, I always aim to boost both their skills and their confidence.
