What do I enjoy most about tutoring? ๐Ÿ˜

Helping students realise their own immense potential to understand a subject deeply and critically, which often brings a bright expression of excitement and curiosity to their faces. This instills a rewarding feeling for me.

My Strengths as Tutor ๐Ÿ’ช

I tailor my teaching sessions and demonstrations to suit each studentโ€™s learning style and capacity, recognising that thereโ€™s never just one way to understand a concept. My strong verbal and written communication skills, along with the use of analogies, help reinforce this approach.

Most important things I can do for a student ๐Ÿ…

The tutor supports the student in exploring and identifying their strengths and weaknesses as a learner through feedback and one-on-one discussions. This empowers them to adopt complementary study habits that target areas for improvement - an essential life skill that is valuable across all areas of employment.

Testimonials ๐Ÿ†

Very engaging and full of energy, which matches Addieโ€™s personality. He is eager to teach her in a way that suits her learning style and is highly responsive to her needs. He speaks in a low, slow tone when he notices she is losing concentration, which helps her re-engage and stay focused. They already got off to a great start learning about time, using a whiteboard and drawing pictures to represent different symbols. He also used stickers and positive praise to keep her motivated and engaged throughout the session. Addie benefits from interchangeable learning segments, including short breaks for water or time to show her toys, which helps her regulate and return to learning. She particularly enjoyed using counters, which were very effective for supporting visual counting. I was very impressed by his kind, calm, and consistent approach.

An excellent tutor who explains maths clearly and makes even the hardest topics easy to understand. Very patient, supportive, and encouraging.

About Platon

Current Tertiary Study

I am a first year Bachelor of Oral Health student at the University of Adelaide, exploring the mystical world of preventative, restorative, and periodontal dentistry! The degree entails subjects ranging from biochemistry, human anatomy and physiology, radiography, and pharmacology. These I can ramble on for indefinitely (apologies if I come across as too garrulous!).

Interests and Hobbies

If I'm not taking a stroll at the Mount Lofy Botanic Gardens over the weekend, you can find me at home listening to and playing classical on the piano. Music is in fact amongst one of my favourite passions - others include eating baked goods and pastries, spending time with friends and family, and composing musical pieces!

Fun Facts

1. I am a bilingual hermit, speaking fluently in both Ukrainian and English (if not counting my broken Japanese). 2. I adore Vietnamese cuisine (especially the banh mi roll)! 3. Juggling is a hidden talent of mine that I discovered about 3 weeks ago. 4. I make excellent sunny side-up eggs!
