What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

What I enjoy most about tutoring is seeing a student go from feeling unsure or frustrated to confident and capable. It’s incredibly rewarding to watch that moment when a concept “clicks†and they realise they can tackle challenges they once thought were too hard. I also enjoy building a supportive relationship where the student feels comfortable asking questions and taking risks with their learning. Every student learns differently, and I find it satisfying to adapt my approach to match their needs and help them grow not just academically, but in their mindset and confidence as well.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I believe my strengths as a tutor come from my experience teaching senior high school students, where I learned to explain complex ideas clearly and adapt to different learning styles. Teaching Applied Science to Year 12 and 13 students helped me support a wide range of learners and keep them engaged. I’m patient, supportive, and focused on helping students build both confidence and understanding. My background in teaching and research has also strengthened my organisation and planning skills.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I believe the most important things a tutor can do are to build the student’s confidence, help them develop a solid understanding of key concepts, and create a supportive space where they feel comfortable asking questions. A good tutor listens carefully, adapts their teaching to suit the student’s needs, and encourages independent thinking. Helping students feel capable and motivated is just as important as improving their academic results.
