What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

What I enjoy most about tutoring is the chance to connect with students and watch their confidence and knowledge grow as their understanding improves through our work together. I enjoy working through problems collaboratively and seeing their thought process so I can explain clearly and, in the process, identify and fill gaps in my own understanding. It is very rewarding to see a student who you develop a connection with to succeed and improve.

My Strengths as Tutor πŸ’ͺ

My main strengths as a tutor are subject mastery, organization, and goal setting. My goal setting skills from my experience tutoring allow me to understand which areas a student is struggling with and, drawing on my deep understanding of the subject, prepare me to give accurate answers and clear explanations. Additionally, being organized helps me plan lessons in a meaningful way in which they can reinforce their understanding and then apply their new skills to cement their comprehension.

Most important things I can do for a student πŸ…

The most important things a tutor can do for a student is to identify their needs accurately and to set attainable goals in a setting where they are comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. By identifying needs accurately and setting clear goals tutors can understand which areas a student is struggling with and design targeted strategies to help them improve. Additionally, focusing on content as well as examination techniques will help plan lessons that deepen students’ understanding and prepare them for assessments.
