What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

Enjoy helping someone realise their potential, seeing the look on their face when they finally understand something & having a positive impact on someone's life

My Strengths as Tutor πŸ’ͺ

Able to explain things in more than one way as everyone learns/understands things differently. I'm patient, relaxed and empathetic. When I was 16-18 I read with an 11/12 year old with special needs every week, his reading ability was that of a 5 year old. His favourite things were football & cars so where possible I used to find books to read that involved those or used his interests to encourage him to read, for example 'once you've read this sentence, can you tell me a fact about cars'.

Most important things I can do for a student πŸ…

Create a positive relationship with learning for the student. A lot of students have a negative relationship with school, often because the teacher cannot give them that 1-1 attention or go over something multiple times. As a tutor I think it is important to show that the student is capable, they just need to approach the way they learn slightly differently.
