Emma is a recent Year 12 graduate who excelled in Maths Advanced, Maths Extension 1, Biology and Chemistry, consistently ranking near the top of her classes. She brings this strong academic background directly into her tutoring, helping students break down tricky concepts into clear, manageable steps. Having earned national recognition in a science competition and a credit in a group maths competition, she is well-practised at tackling challenging problems and can show students how to approach exam-style questions with confidence and structure.
Through hands-on experience in a childcare setting, Emma has spent time working closely with children under five, learning how to be patient, warm and responsive to individual needs. This makes her particularly suited to primary students who may be anxious or just starting out with more formal learning. She focuses on building trust, celebrating small wins and using simple explanations, which helps students feel safe to ask questions and stay curious, especially in foundational maths and English.
As a former school prefect, Emma has experience leading younger students, planning and presenting assemblies, and speaking confidently in front of groups. These skills flow naturally into her tutoring style: lessons are organised, time is used efficiently, and expectations are clear. She draws on her problem-solving and teamwork experience from science and maths competitions to teach students how to plan their work, check their answers and learn from mistakes, all while keeping sessions friendly, encouraging and down-to-earth.

Lachlan is good at trying to figure out how to answer a question and taking his time to try and figure out why he is doing that. He did well on sine, cosine and tan and when to use each one and he did well on bearings. Lachlan did well on the difference between inverse and direct equations and most stats questions he understood.
We need to improve recognition that when it is not a right-angle triangle, use the cosine or sine rule. Also, remembering when finding the degree, doing the inverse of sin, cos or tan. Continue to work on probability tables. Lachlan also needs to show all of his work to get the most marks possible.
