What do I enjoy most about tutoring? ๐
I enjoy watching students grow in confidence as they begin to understand ideas that once seemed difficult. Tutoring gives me the chance to personalise learning and explain concepts in ways that make sense to each student. I find it most rewarding when students start to apply what they have learned independently and feel proud of their own progress.
My Strengths as Tutor ๐ช
My main strengths are patience, clear communication and a solid understanding of Mathematics and Accounting. My academic background in Financial Mathematics and Accounting, together with my professional experience, helps me develop the skills to explain abstract ideas in a practical and simple way. During my teaching placement, I developed strong skills in building supportive classroom environments, using formative assessment and adapting teaching strategies to meet different learning needs.
Most important things I can do for a student ๐
I think the most important thing a tutor can do is to help students build confidence in their own ability to learn. Tutoring isnโt just about explaining the content. Itโs more about creating a space where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. A good tutor listens carefully, understands what the student needs, and guides them to find their own solutions. I also believe encouragement and patience are important because when students feel supported, they become more motivated and independent in their learning.

Classroom-Tested Approach to Confidence and Progress
Through her school placements, this tutor has managed real classrooms, created lesson materials and refined her teaching strategies with mentor support. She uses formative assessments, short quizzes and targeted questions to pinpoint gaps, then offers timely feedback that students can act on straight away. Manjun also pays attention to studentsโ social and emotional needs, using encouragement and active listening to help anxious learners feel safe to ask questions and make mistakes.
Organised, Bilingual and Detail-Oriented Support
With experience managing financial records for a student society, Manjun brings strong organisation and attention to detail into her tutoring sessions, helping students structure their working and check answers carefully. She is fluent in English and Mandarin, which can be especially helpful for bilingual families or students learning in an additional language. This tutor enjoys creating simple visual notes and using reallife number examples so that maths feels practical, logical and less intimidating for primary and high school students.
