What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy being able to support students that are struggling and feeling overwhelmed with their studies in order to allow them to reach their full academic potential. I enjoy seeing students learn and enjoy seemingly difficult subjects such as mathematics, chemistry, and English literature studies. As students are able to understand and tackle difficult subjects and succeed, I enjoy seeing students being on track to one day reach their dream profession or find new pathways and career possibilities.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe I have a comprehensive knowledge in maths, science, and English literary studies as seen as I have consistently earned A band grades throughout high school. My understanding of the content combined with my communication skills I have developed in cadets and informal tutoring, I believe I have the ability to effectively communicate and explain concepts clearly in ways that suit students' individual learning styles. I believe I have the emotional maturity and patience required to compassionately support students that struggle. Overall, I am a kind, honest, and self-disciplined person.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is support the student in overcoming their struggles in a subject, allowing students to reach their full academic potential. I hope to empower students by equipping them with the skills and knowledge required to succeed at school. I also hope to help students develop a genuine interest for learning and help them learn independently, so they succeed now and in the future.

About Thomas
Strong Maths Background with Proven School Support Experience
Thomas is a recent Year 12 graduate who excelled in methods and specialist mathematics, as well as English literature, chemistry, and biology. At school, he volunteered in maths and science tutoring clubs, helping classmates understand tricky concepts and prepare for assessments. This tutor knows the current curriculum and what teachers are really looking for. He focuses on building clear step-by-step understanding, so students not only get the right answers but also feel confident tackling new problems on their own.
Leadership and Teaching Through Cadet Training
Through several years in a youth cadet program, Thomas developed strong discipline, teamwork, and leadership skills. As a senior cadet, he planned and ran activities and regularly taught interactive lessons on aerospace topics, including basic physics and maths, to younger cadets. This experience means he is comfortable explaining complex ideas in simple, engaging ways and managing groups of different ages and abilities. Parents can expect structured, well-prepared sessions with a calm, encouraging teaching style.
Motivated Role Model with a Balanced Lifestyle
Thomas brings the mindset of a high achiever who still understands the pressures students face. He has earned multiple academic awards recognising his place among the top students in his cohort. Outside the classroom, he is active in basketball, running, and holds a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, showing commitment and perseverance over many years. He uses these experiences to teach students about goal setting, resilience, and time management, helping them build strong study habits alongside improved maths and English skills.

It is evident that his solving ability needs development, this includes the use of the null factor law, trig solving, and factorisation. I fear that Lucas is not ready or prepared for his next test and would need to do a lot of study.

He needs to continue writing out his working out, demonstrating to the marker the logical mathematical steps he is doing. Furthermore, taking things more slowly and examining the problem would further assist his mathematical solving abilities.
Doyle was able to quickly learn but more importantly understand the processes and apply them in a range of routine and more complex questions.
