What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I love those moments when a concept finally clicks for someone. Guiding someone to think independently and develop long-term skills is really fulfilling.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

My strengths as a tutor include my ability to explain concepts clearly, adapt to each student’s learning style, and create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions. I’m patient, organised, and I focus on building a student’s understanding and confidence rather than just getting through content.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I think the most important things a tutor can do is to not just deliver content, but rather build their confidence. Create a safe, non-judgmental environment where the student feels comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.

About Lu

Strong academic foundation with competition experience

Lu has completed the IB Diploma and brings a solid background in Maths and English, strengthened through participation in Junior Science and Maths Olympiads and the Da Vinci Decathlon. These experiences mean she is comfortable with challenging problem-solving and critical thinking, and she knows how to break complex ideas into manageable steps. She draws on this academic rigour to help students build confidence, accuracy and exam-ready skills, while still keeping lessons approachable and age-appropriate.

Hands-on tutoring with primary students

This tutor has direct experience teaching primary school children, focusing on building problem-solving skills and clear thinking in both Maths and English-based tasks. She has already helped younger students grasp new concepts by using simple explanations, step-by-step guidance and plenty of practice questions. Lu’s strong written and verbal communication skills, along with her bilingual background, allow her to adapt explanations to different learning styles and make sure students genuinely understand, not just memorise.

Leadership, discipline and a calm coaching style

Beyond the classroom, Lu has developed leadership and teamwork skills as a rowing coxswain and Australian junior representative, where she guides and motivates a crew under pressure. She also takes part in activities such as Mock Trials and Model UN, which sharpen her logical thinking and argument skills—ideal for essay writing and comprehension support. Parents can expect a tutor who is organised, quick-thinking and encouraging, able to keep students focused while creating a friendly, motivating learning environment.
